Acclaimed Photorealist Painter to Create Official Artwork to be Featured at West Coast’s Largest Food and Wine Classic, November 15-22,2015

San Diego, CA (September 22, 2015) – Producers of the San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival announce the selection of acclaimed artist, Scott Jacobs, as this year’s featured and celebrity artist. In his official capacity, Scott Jacobs is set to take part in the wine and food festival and will participate in various events and signings throughout the weeklong fête. Each year, the featured artist creates a signature piece that serves as the official art for the Festival, said Michelle Metter, co-producer of the San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival.

“We are thrilled for Scott to join the San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival’s roster of distinguished artisans, and for him to add a new and unique piece to our portfolio of original paintings” added Metter. “Each year, our Featured Artist is tasked with creating a one-of-a-kind piece that personifies a culinary enthusiast’s passion for the art of food and wine – Scott’s international appeal and appreciation for culinary art make him an ideal fit for this occasion.”

Recognized for his photograph-like paintings that can take up to 500 hours to create, Jacobs is known as one of the best photorealist painters in the 21st Century. Whether it’s a motorcycle, classic car, fine bottle of wine or a delicate dew-covered flower, Jacobs’ attention to detail supersedes all expectation. Admirers are often surprised to discover that the image before them is not a photograph, but rather a Scott Jacobs Original Painting. Over his career, Jacobs has worked with Chevrolet, Ford, Dodge Viper, Marilyn Monroe Estates, Elvis Presley Enterprises, and more!

The original piece will be auctioned during the Festival week at the Celebrity Chef Dinner on Thursday, November 19 to benefit culinary and enology scholarships provided by the American Institute of Wine and Food and Chaîne des Rôtisseurs.

Food and wine festival attendees can look forward to meeting Scott Jacobs at The Collection at the SommCon Tasting on Friday, November 20, a limited ticket event where a gallery of Jacobs’ limited edition works will be on display. Jacobs will also be present at the Grand Tasting on Saturday, November 21, where he will sign posters of this year’s featured artwork.

Scott Jacobs’ collections of paintings and prints can be viewed at the Scott Jacobs Studio Art Gallery & Framing. You can also visit his website For more information on Scott Jacobs, view his San Diego Bay Wine and Food Festival bio here.
