SAN DIEGO CHEFS PARTNER WITH ACCLAIMED GUEST CHEFS FROM ACROSS THE COUNTRY FOR A CITYWIDE OPENING NIGHT DINNER SERIES

The San Diego Bay Wine + Food Festival Kicks Off 13th Annual Culinary Classic With Mercy of the Chef Collaboration Dinner Series

San Diego, CA (October 11, 2016) – The San Diego Bay Wine + Food Festival ®, Southern California’s largest and most exciting food and wine celebration announces, Mercy of the Chef, a brand new city-wide opening night held on Monday, November 14. During this epic celebration, a selection of the country’s most talented chefs jet to America’s Finest City to partner with beloved San Diego chefs on an opening night dinner series that hits locales across the region and in Baja.

To kick off a week of cooking classes, wine tastings and more, the Mercy of the Chef dinner series challenged local chefs to handpick a guest chef from anywhere across the country and craft an out of this world dining experience that blends together two different culinary styles. Raising the stakes and making things even more interesting, most of the chefs have never met their collaborator - which is the fun part, according to featured chef, Andrew Bachelier of Campfire.

“The dining experience is new for both the attendees and the chef,” adds Bachelier. “Bringing together two chefs with two different cooking styles and placing them on one person’s home turf can be tough, but uniting the industry through collaboration is important as it allows us to learn and appreciate new techniques.”

Jason McLeod, Executive Chef and Owner of Ironside Fish & Oyster adds that “the best part of collaboration is the relationships you build with chefs whom you cook alongside. I feel grateful that all of the chefs I have collaborated with I now call friends. Mercy of the Chef is a unique experience for attendees, but as chefs it is also special.”
