APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN FOR FAST FORWARD FUTURES, CHAÎNE DES RÔTISSEURS, BERRY GOOD NIGHT, AND WOMEN’S WINE ALLIANCE OENOLOGY AND CULINARY ARTS SCHOLARSHIPS
San Diego, CA (September 14, 2016) – The San Diego Bay Wine + Food Festival ® opens the application process for Fast Forward Futures, Chaîne des Rôtisseurs (Chaîne), Berry Good Night, and Women’s Wine Alliance culinary arts, oenology and viticulture scholarships. Scholarships are awarded to students, culinary enthusiasts, and professionals who are looking to further his or her education in the areas of culinary arts, oenology and viticulture.
Scholarship funds are raised through silent and live auctions held throughout the week of the San Diego Bay Wine + Food Festival,® Southern California’s most exciting culinary classic held November 14-20, 2016. This year’s live auction will be held at Dinner with the Culinary Masters presented by Lexus on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina. Past auction items have included big bottle formats, vacation packages, along with various wine and food novelty items.
Additionally, proceeds from the San Diego Bay Wine + Food Festival® Golf Invitational held on Monday, November 14, and ticket proceeds from other select events will go towards scholarship funds. To date, the San Diego Bay Wine + Food Festival® has raised more than $325,000 towards scholarships.
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must enroll in an accredited continuing education program in the culinary arts, oenology and viticulture, or hospitality and must be connected to San Diego by school, work, or recent involvement in food or wine. Programs may be within or outside of the U.S., but must offer continuous relevant hands-on, in-person experience.
Applications will be accepted until Monday, September 19, 2016. Scholarship winners will be officially recognized at Dinner with the Culinary Masters on November 17, 2016 in front of an audience of professional chefs, winemakers, sommeliers, Fast Forward Futures, Chaîne des Rôtisseurs, Berry Good Night, and Women’s Wine Alliance members, as well as media from the food and wine industries.
Scholarship awards typically range from $800 to $5,000 and the funds do not need to be repaid. The scholarship funds are sent directly to the school the selected applicant will be attending.
