Stuart was appointed Executive Director of the Lodi Winegrape Commission in April 2018. Stuart had previously served as the Program Manager for the Lodi Winegrape Commission since 1999 working to raise the awareness of the Lodi wines and grapes. In that role, Stuart has been responsible for guiding many of Commission’s successful efforts including the Lodi Wine & Visitor Center, Wine & Chocolate Weekend, ZinFest, the Lodi Rules for Sustainable Winegrowing, and many other endeavors. Stuart has extensive knowledge on the history of wine and grape growing Lodi and is the Commission’s principal spokesperson.  Stuart is also the winemaker for his family’s winery, St.Amant Winery, a small premium winery producing distinctive wines in the Lodi appellation since 1980.  Stuart is one of the founding winemakers of the “Lodi Native” group that is dedicated to crafting distinctive wines from Lodi’s historic old Zinfandel vineyards.
