Sabina is without any doubts the queen of seafood in Baja. Her humble street food cart “Mariscos La Guerrerense” founded in 1960, has been the reason for culinary pilgrimages by celebrity chefs such as Anthony Bourdain, Rick Bayless, Enrique Olvera, Nancy Silverton, Marcus Samuelsson, René Redzepi, and many more. Sabina with the support from her family have taken her Baja style cuisine all around the world with great success, opening new restaurants in Ensenada and Mexico City.

According to NewsWeek, “La Guerrerense” is among the 101 best places to eat in the world. She has been featured in countless TV food shows such as Anthony Bourdain’s “No Reservations”, Rick Bayless’ “Mexico: One Plate at a Time”, NatGeo’s “One Way”, Aquiles Chávez’s “Aquilísimo”, Utilísima’s “Benito y Solange”, Demian Bichir’s “Yo Solo Sé Que No He Cenado” and many others in Discovery Channel, Univision, TV Azteca, Eater, Gourmet, etc. Additionally, her food cart has been covered in numerous articles by domestic and international, such as New York Times, Travel + Leisure, Saveur, Los Angeles Times, Playboy, San Diego Reader, and many more.

At the Mexican Gastronomy’s World Forum, Doña Sabina Bandera was recognized as one of the leading traditional Mexican cooks that have represented Mexico’s gastronomy all over the world. In. 2013, she won 1st Place in Sales and 3rd Place Overall in the World Street Food Congress in Singapore.
