Kathryn Rogers, founder of Maya Moon Co., launched the company following a 10-year career in strategic brand management and executive leadership in the wellness and sustainable food sectors. After building a successful farm-to-table catering company from the ground up in San Diego, she decided to pivot the Vivacious Dish LLC brand to launch a packaged food product. Maya Moon Co. was born out of her love for sweets and an allergy to processed sugar: so she set out on a mission to create a decadent treat that made her and her customers feel amazing: body, mind and spirit.

After launching in 2018 selling organic cacao truffles and drinking chocolate online and at local events, Rogers opened Maya Moon’s first brick-and-mortar cacao café in Normal Heights in August 2021. Executive Pastry Chef Edna Carola Mawhinney’s menu includes a variety of gluten free pastries and farm-to-table savory bites, along with organic drinking chocolate and handmade truffles.
