Jacob is originally from Orange County. Jacob has enjoyed cooking as long as he can remember, growing up with his father and grandmother regularly working on something new and exciting in the kitchen. After culinary school at the CIA, he apprenticed in Southern California before making his move to San Francisco to work his way up the kitchen at Acquerello working under Chef Suzette Gresham.

In 2018 Jacob joined the opening team at Angler San Francisco, a Saison Group Restaurant. Angler was named Best New Restaurant in 2019 by Esquire and awarded one Michelin Star, along with semifinalist best new restaurant by the James Beard Foundation with the first nine month of being open. In 2021 Jacob moved to San Diego to start a family with his wife Cora, he began working at Jeune et Jolie under chef Eric Bost which earned one Michelin Star.
