Inocente Galicia discovered her passion for art when she was 12 years old. She is the subject of an eponymously named Oscar-winning documentary that chronicles her struggles and achievements as a homeless teen in San Diego. Inocente has participated in over 300 live screenings and talkbacks of the documentary across the United States. She continues to paint and with the support of many San Diego youth programs is developing an innovative teaching style that helps youth understand the powerful role art can play in their lives. After a brief hiatus Inocente is looking forward to sharing her new and improved art pieces.
