Project New Village’s Managing Director is N. Diane Moss, an African-American woman, waymaker, and womanist, who after graduating from UC San Diego with a BA in Urban and Rural Studies, has spent her career managing community-rooted organizations in Southeastern San Diego. Moss is currently a member of the San Diego Food System Alliance Steering Committee. She was selected as the 2019 Women of the Year for the 79th State Assembly District, awarded the 2019 Trailblazer award by the San Diego Voice and Viewpoint, and selected as an inaugural 2024 awardee for the Conrad Prebys Foundation Leaders in Belonging Initiative
