About
Denice Grande has held an ever increasing leadership role in the kitchen of Solare Ristorante for the last 10 years. Her passion for making great Italian food coupled with her roots in the worlds of cuisine and farming has made her a very special chef. Her culinary focus has been on regional Italian recipes for over 20 years.
Denice was born and raised on the coast of the Mexican state of Guerrero in the small agricultural village of Coyuquilla Norte. Her family for many generations were farmers in the area, and her mother started and operated the top restaurant in the community. Being near the Pacific Ocean, seafood was king and her mother’s specialty was Pescado a la Talla.
Denice moved to the United States after graduating school and she has been creating and cooking Italian cuisine ever since. She is most happy when she is making pasta from scratch, and the house-made pasta that Solare offers is evidence of this. Denice’s favorite pasta dishes to have herself is the Tagliolini Pasta with freshly shaved Italian Truffles or a great Fettuccine ai Fuitti di Mare that reminds her of the seafood of her childhood.
Her favorite restaurant is a small cabana located right on the beach by her town, and she visits it every time she is home.
