About

Anne Siegel is a California native who believes that the start of spring should be a national holiday. Her introduction into the wine country lifestyle started when she moved to San Francisco after college at UC San Diego. Every weekend, Anne would gather a group of city ‐ dwellers to head to Napa and Sonoma for release parties or just to try a new winery. She learned how transformative great marketing campaigns can be while working for big companies and PR agencies, but she had a feeling her little hobby would turn into something more. A fortuitous job in the wine industry and a love for the farm‐to‐table food scene landed her in Napa. As a local, she saw that there were many people like her visiting from San Francisco, but other than wine, there weren’t a lot of mementos, inspiring enough to bring back after a day of wine tasting. She knew there was interest in items that took a snapshot of a warm, fun ‐ filled day with friends, sipping wine and eating great food. So, why not create a collection of items that captured these moments? When not creating the latest items for Olive and Poppy, you will find her pinning margarita recipes, entertaining friends for dinner in her backyard and taking her twins to Tomales Bay for fresh oysters with her husband Rudy.

Nicole Hughes is a New Zealander by birth but was quickly converted by California’s warm weather and laid back charm when her family moved to San Francisco’s East Bay when she was six. Her “Kiwi ingenuity” led her to UC Berkeley where she studied Communications and Business with an unofficial emphasis on ‘exploring as much of the world as possible’. Her love of travel led her to find creative ways to spend extended stints in places like Mallorca Spain and Bath England. After graduation she honed her marketing skills with jobs in San Francisco and Lake Tahoe but still couldn’t shake the travel bug. She found herself daydreaming of how to move to whatever amazing location that she happened to visit on the weekends. From Stinson Beach to Barcleona Nicole found herself always enchanted with new locales and cultures. It wasn’t until a visit to Napa and a great love of wine inspired her to move to wine country that she finally felt the desire to put down roots in one place. Her enthusiasm for starting Olive and Poppy is an effort to “bottle” these moments—the enchantment of a particular place—that can sometimes seem almost too perfect and take it home with you. When not working on all things Olive and Poppy you will find Nicole on her patio sipping a glass of rosé with her husband Casey tending to her heirloom tomato plants or painting the back fence vibrant colors with her two daughters.
