Celebrity Chef Alex Thomopoulos Joins San Diego Bay Wine + Food Festival Chef Lineup
Chef and Host Alex Thomopoulos joins the all star chef lineup of the 15th Annual San Diego Bay Wine + Food Festival! Join Alex in the VIP Tent at the Grand Tasting on Saturday, November 17 and as co-host for the Taco TKO on Sunday, November 18 alongside Sam the Cooking Guy and Dining Out Magazine’s Josh Kopelman.
Alex is an accomplished chef and culinarian, stand up comedian and on camera host that combines a unique flavor packed cooking style with a passion for the environment, health, hunger initiatives and sustainability. She strives to have a positive impact and bring joy to those around her one meal at a time.
As Head Chef at the new Venice Beach Café/restaurant Great White, designing a balanced menu filled with indulgent cravings and healthy fare. In addition to hosting her own cooking shows “Bites and Booze; Gluten Free” and “Gluten Free with Alex T” on YouTube’s HUNGRY channel, and recently joined forces with Graham Elliot on Bravo’s “Going off the Menu.”
At the San Diego Bay Wine + Food Festival, Alex helps fire up the VIP Tent at the Grand Tasting in this year’s Live Fire Experience along with chefs, Jason McLeod, Duskie Estes, Chad White, Drew Deckman, Flor Franco, Javier Plascencia, Deborah Scott, John Stewart, Travis Swikard and Claudette Zepeda-Wilkins. At the Grand Tasting, taste from over 60 guest chefs and restaurants, hundreds of domestic and international wine, beer and spirit purveyors and gourmet food companies amidst a stunning coastal backdrop with sail boats floating by.
Additionally, Alex hosts the ultimate taco throwdown, the Taco TKO. San Diego’s most celebrated taco makers go head-to-head to be named the city’s Most Awesome Taco. Chow down and vote for your favorite in this winner takes all competition, inclusive of live music, beer, tequila and of course… tacos.
The Grand Tasting VIP Experience is held on Saturday, November 17 from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Tickets are priced at $225. Tickets are available here.
The Taco TKO at Libery Station is held on Sunday, November 18 from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Tickets are priced at $55 per person and are available here.
