Stevan Novoa from Carte Blanche Awarded Arrive At Awesome® Sauce For 2020
The San Diego Bay Wine + Food Festival® kicked off its 16th annual celebration with Barbecue + Bourbon, a Veterans Day barbecue at Coronado Island Marriott Resort & Spa. In addition to mouthwatering barbecue and plenty of bourbon, the San Diego Bay Wine + Food Festival introduced the Arrive At Awesome® Sauce competition.
The competition brought top talented pitmasters together to compete for the title of Arrive At Awesome® Sauce of the San Diego Bay Wine + Food Festival. Chefs from around the city submitted their secret sauce, sharing their unique take on their most awesome sauce creation.
The Arrive At Awesome® Sauce competition recognizes and celebrates truly innovative and delicious flavors considering each sauce’s presentation, flavor, and quality.
The 2020 Arrive At Awesome® Sauce title went to Stevan Novoa from Carte Blanche for his West Coast French Barbecue sauce served with Brandt Beef adobo brisket.

Judges for this year’s competition included Aaron Obregon of Albaca at the Coronado Island Marriott Resort & Spa, Ballistic BBQ’s Greg Mrvich, Sarah Faherty from MasterChef, and Theo Lee, Founder of KPOP Foods.
