Get into the fall spirit by apple picking with your family and friends! Julian, a quaint town known for its apple pies and country town feel, is a local favorite for apple picking. You can visit Julian Farm and Orchard, Peacefield Orchard, or Volcan Valley Apple Farm for all your apple picking needs. While you’re there, head to Julian Pie Company to taste its highly coveted, delicious pastries.
After apple picking, grab a pumpkin at your local pumpkin patch! Pumpkin bread, pumpkin pie, and jack-o-lanterns are staples of the season and luckily, sandiego.org has compiled a list of the best pumpkin patches in the county.
Catch a glimpse of fall colors at the Japanese Friendship Garden in Balboa Park. It’s the perfect spot to have a fall picnic under bright orange and red foliage. If you’re not packing your own snacks, visit any of the cafés and restaurants with your crew in the surrounding areas at Balboa Park.
