Originally from Salt Lake City, Utah, Joshua Orr got his start in the wine industry while attending Cal Poly University in San Luis Obispo, California. Working in various segments of the wine industry from being a wine tour guide/driver to tasting bars as well as the Wine club at Cal Poly called Vines 2 Wines. Following graduation from Cal Poly, he lived and worked for a year in the famed Burgundy wine region of France. Upon returning from France, Orr moved directly to Las Vegas to begin work as a sommelier at the Venetian and MGM Grand Hotels. He left Vegas for San Diego where he worked in various sides of the business eventually landing at his current position with wine importer Broadbent Selections. Orr is one of only ~190 Master Sommeliers currently residing in the US, having passed the exam in 2019. In 2014 he was lucky enough to win the Top I Somm competition for best sommelier in the US. Orr currently lives with his wife, two sons and puppy in San Diego. He is the Director of Education for Broadbent Selections nationally while also managing their sales for SoCal, Hawaii and Nevada.
