Celebrity Chef Duskie Estes Joins Lineup of San Diego Bay Wine + Food Festival Chefs
American chef and restauranteur, Duskie Estes, will head to San Diego this November joining an all-star cast of celebrity chefs during this year’s San Diego Bay Wine + Food Festival. Join Duskie at Femme de la Fork at Cucina Enoteca on Friday, November 16 and in the VIP Tent at the Grand Tasting on Saturday, November 17.
Duskie is known for being a fierce competitor on Food Network’s The Next Iron Chef, seasons 3 and 5, and for judging on Guy’s Grocery Games. In 2001, Duskie opened Zazu Kitchen + Farm in Sonoma County with husband, Chef John Stewart. The Zazu Kitchen raises their own rabbits, ducks, chickens, goats, sheep, and pigs. They believe in the responsibility of their purchases and source ethical meats direct from farmer and respect the life given by using all parts “snout to tail.” Prior to her move to Sonoma, Duskie was the chef of Palace Kitchen, rated by Gourmet magazine as one of the top twenty restaurants in the country in 2000.
At the San Diego Bay Wine + Food Festival, Duskie joins a roster of renowned chefs at Femme de la Fork. James Beard award winning author, television personality and celebrated chef Gale Gand, as well as Chef Domenica Catelli of Catelli’s in Sonoma will collaborate on this exceptional dining experience with wines from international and domestic female winemakers cleverly paired by Master Sommelier Laura Williamson.
Duskie also helps to light the fires for this year’s VIP Experience at the Grand Tasting. This Live Fire Experience features chefs Duskie Estes, Alex Thomopoulos, Jason McLeod, Chad White, Drew Deckman, Flor Franco, Javier Plascencia, Deborah Scott, John Stewart, Travis Swikard, and Claudette Zepeda-Wilkins.
