Eight Nationally Acclaimed Chefs from Across the United States Prepare Elaborate Five-Course Meal with Carefully Selected Wine Pairings on Thursday, November 19
San Diego, CA (November 12, 2015) – Take a bite, and change a life on Thursday, November 19 with nationally acclaimed chefs and 15 esteemed wineries from across the nation for unparalleled dining experience and lavish big bottle live auction at the San Diego Bay Wine + Food Festival’s® Celebrity Chef Dinner - Held at the Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
In an elaborate evening celebrating culinarians both established and aspiring, big bottle formats, jet-setting vacation packages, and other wine and food enthusiast novelty items are auctioned to raise funds for hospitality, culinary and oenology students in San Diego.
Scholarships are awarded by the San Diego Chapters of the American Institute of Wine & Food and the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs. San Diego Bay Wine + Food Festival® Event Producer Michelle Metter says that over the last decade, more than $350,000 scholarships dollars have been donated to local students through funds raised at the Celebrity Chef Dinner and throughout the San Diego Bay Wine + Food Festival®.
Throughout the dinner, enjoy five expertly designed courses and appetizers from acclaimed chefs, Justin Cogley of Aubergine at L’Auberge, Gale Gand of Spritz Burger, Bernard Guillas of The Marine Room, David Iino of SALT Restaurant, Dean James Max of DJM Restaurants, Sven Mede of Blau and Associates, Makoto Okuwa of Makoto and Sutti Sripolpa of the Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego. In addition to the exceptional cuisine, each table is hosted by one of the 15 award-winning wineries, who expertly pair each course with one of the wineries’ flagship vintages and varietals.
“Each year, The Celebrity Chef Dinner brings together an incredible collection of the finest chefs from across the nation, and assembles their unique talents into one kitchen for a truly remarkable and unforgettable dining experience,” continued Metter. “While the meal is a an experience your tastebuds will never forget, the real life changing moment happens for our scholarship winners, who are able to pursue their passion and advance their careers because of the funding they receive.”
The evening begins with a reception featuring small bites and libations, and is followed by a live auction hosted by Shally Zomorodi, FOX 5 Morning News Anchor. Professional auctioneers, Clinton and Michael Metter auction off 25 extravagant wine lots in addition to the 2015 Official Festival Artwork created to commemorate this year’s Festival by Official Festival Artist, Scott Jacobs.
